Workshop: Youth Forum

Natsarun Tissadikun is a musician, composer, and arranger specializing in tone development exercises and original compositions for wind ensembles. She has written and arranged several works for Brass Quintet, including a collection titled Animal Suite, which features three pieces: Elephant, Horse, and Bird. These works were later adapted into Brass Trio versions for young performers. She also composed Luenrit Fantasia for the Luenrit Youth Wind Ensemble (Yaowarat), reflecting her commitment to youth music development.

Natsarun holds a Doctor of Music degree in Music Arts from the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University; a Master’s degree in Music from the College of Music, Mahidol University; and a Bachelor’s degree in Western Music from the Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University, with a major in French horn. She co-composed Horn of Siam for Horn Quintet with Sakchai Charoensuksanan. Her horn performance studies were guided by several prominent instructors including Balee Pongklud, Dr. Nipat Kanchanahut, Chanakorn Paenmuang, Nantawat Waranich, Prasert Ratchamanee, Supachai Sorathon, and Dr. Daren Robbins. She also studied Western music theory under the tutelage of Balee Pongklud, Dr. Jiradet Setabundhu, and Professor Dr. Wiboon Trakulhun.

Currently, she serves as a full-time lecturer at the College of Music, Bansomdejchaopraya Rajabhat University. Natsarun has made significant contributions to the field of wind ensemble education in Thailand, particularly through the development of tone quality exercises. She collaborated with Manit Buchachanok to compose two etudes for wind ensemble: In Touch I and In Touch II.

In 2023, she received a creative research grant from the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) for the fiscal year 2023, which supported the composition of the Kudi Chin Suite for wind ensemble. This suite was co-composed with Adiwatch Panapongpaisal and Warinthorn Sisiadngam and premiered by Kasetsart Winds under the baton of Asst.prof. Surapol Thanyaviboon and Dr. Nipat Kanchanahut at the Chulabhornpisalsilp Music Hall, Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University, Bangkhen Campus.

Additionally, she received another research grant from the NRCT in fiscal year 2025 to pursue a new creative research project Heroines of Siam. The Suite for Wind Band was co-written in collaboration with Thanawat Ueapoonpol, who served as both co-researcher and co-composer.
