วงดุริยางค์เครื่องลมแห่งมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ ก่อตั้งขึ้นเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2540 โดยดำริของ ศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธีระ สูตะบุตร อธิการบดีมหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์ในขณะนั้น ร่วมกับ รองศาสตราจารย์ กมลา นาคะศิริ คณบดีคณะมนุษยศาสตร์ และ รองศาสตราจารย์ ดร.ธวัชชัย นาควงศ์ หัวหน้าภาควิชาศิลปนิเทศ โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อพัฒนาศักยภาพนิสิตด้านการแสดงดนตรีในรูปแบบวงโยธวาทิตระดับมหาวิทยาลัย ภายใต้การกำกับดูแลของภาควิชาศิลปนิเทศ คณะมนุษยศาสตร์
วงเริ่มต้นจากการรวมตัวของนิสิตสาขาวิชาเอกดนตรีตะวันตก และนิสิตผู้มีประสบการณ์และความสนใจในวงโยธวาทิต โดยใช้ชื่อว่า “Kasetsart University Symphonic Band” มีสมาชิกเริ่มแรกประมาณ 35 คน และได้รับการพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่องทั้งในด้านคุณภาพการบรรเลง โครงสร้างวง และจำนวนสมาชิก
ต่อมา วงได้เพิ่มเครื่องดนตรีประเภทเครื่องสาย เช่น Double Bass เข้ามาเพื่อเสริมพลังเสียงและสร้างความหลากหลายทางดนตรี จนมีจำนวนสมาชิกเพิ่มขึ้นเป็นกว่า 55 คน และเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น “Kasetsart University Wind Symphony” ซึ่งนับเป็นหนึ่งในวงดุริยางค์เครื่องลมระดับมหาวิทยาลัยวงแรก ๆ ของประเทศไทย
ปัจจุบัน วงใช้ชื่อว่า “Kasetsart Winds” เพื่อสะท้อนภาพลักษณ์ที่ทันสมัย และแสดงถึงอัตลักษณ์ทางดนตรีที่มีความมุ่งมั่น สร้างสรรค์ และก้าวสู่เวทีระดับนานาชาติ วงมีสมาชิกมากกว่า 100 คน และเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการเรียนการสอนในรายวิชา ดุริยางค์เครื่องลม ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในรายวิชาของหลักสูตรดนตรีตะวันตก คณะมนุษยศาสตร์ มหาวิทยาลัยเกษตรศาสตร์
ในด้านการแสดงและการแข่งขันระดับนานาชาติ วง Kasetsart Winds ได้รับเกียรติให้เข้าร่วม การประกวดดนตรีโลก (World Music Contest – WMC) ณ เมืองเคิร์กราเด ประเทศเนเธอร์แลนด์ ในปี 2013 และ 2017 ซึ่งเป็นหนึ่งในเวทีการประกวดวงดนตรีระดับโลกที่มีชื่อเสียงที่สุดในวงการดนตรีเครื่องลม และในปี 2023 วงยังได้รับเชิญให้ร่วมแสดงใน การสัมมนาวิชาการวงดุริยางค์ Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA) ณ มลรัฐเท็กซัส ประเทศสหรัฐอเมริกา นับเป็นอีกหนึ่งก้าวสำคัญของวงในการนำเสนอผลงานสู่สายตานานาชาติอย่างต่อเนื่อง
Kasetsart Winds was established in 1997 at Kasetsart University under the vision of Professor Dr. Theera Sutabutra, then President of the University, in collaboration with Associate Professor Kamala Nakasiri, then Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, and Associate Professor Dr. Thawatchai Nakawong, then Head of the Department of Performing Arts. The ensemble was created to enhance students’ musical skills through wind band performance and has been operated under the supervision of the Department of Performing Arts, Faculty of Humanities.
The ensemble began as the Kasetsart University Symphonic Band, comprising around 35 students from the Western Music program and other students with prior musical experience and a passion for wind band performance. Over time, the group expanded in both size and musical quality, incorporating additional instrumentation—such as Double Bass—to enrich its sonic depth. Eventually, the ensemble grew to over 55 members and was renamed the Kasetsart University Wind Symphony, becoming one of the first university-level symphonic bands in Thailand.
Today, the ensemble is known as “Kasetsart Winds,” reflecting its modern identity and continuous commitment to creativity, excellence, and international outreach. The band currently includes more than 100 members and functions as part of the academic curriculum through the course Wind Ensemble, one of the core subjects in the Western Music Program of the Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University.
Internationally, Kasetsart Winds has proudly represented Thailand in major global events. The ensemble participated in the World Music Contest (WMC) — one of the world’s most prestigious wind band competitions — held in Kerkrade, the Netherlands in both 2013 and 2017. In 2023, the band was invited to perform at the Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA) Convention in Texas, USA, marking another milestone in its journey onto the global stage.

ชวิน เต็มสิทธิโชค เป็นนักแต่งเพลงชาวไทย ผลงานของเขามุ่งสำรวจความเชื่อมโยงระหว่างปรากฏการณ์ทางดนตรี วัฒนธรรม และประวัติศาสตร์ ผลงานของเขามีความโดดเด่นด้านสีสันของเสียงที่สดใสและบรรยากาศที่เปี่ยมด้วยชีวิตชีวา โดยเน้นย้ำถึงความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างเสียงกับที่มาของมัน ดนตรีของชวินมักได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากความประทับใจส่วนตัว ปรากฏการณ์ทางธรรมชาติ และนวัตกรรมทางเทคโนโลยี ด้วยพื้นฐานทางด้านดนตรีไทยเดิม ชวินมุ่งที่จะเดินทางข้ามผ่านพรมแดนทางศิลปะที่หลากหลาย เพื่อถักทอภูมิทัศน์เสียงร่วมสมัยเข้ากับองค์ประกอบของดนตรีไทย

Chawin Temsittichok is a Thai composer whose works explore the interconnectedness of musical phenomena, culture, and history. His works are distinguished by vibrant timbre and effervescent ambiance, emphasizing the connection between sounds and extramusical references. Chawin’s music often draws inspiration from personal impressions, natural phenomena, and technological innovation. Incorporating his foundation in Thai traditional music, Chawin navigates across different artistic domains, weaving together contemporary sonic landscapes and Thai traditional musical elements.
Chawin’s music has been performed internationally in Thailand, Canada, the United States, Ukraine, Hungary, and Croatia. He is a recipient of the ARTZenter Emerging Composer Grant 2024. His music received various awards such as the 21st century Piano Commission Competition (2024), PYO call for score ‘Borderless’ (2024), Ensemble Ibis call for score (2023), the SCG Young Thai Artist Award (2019), and the Frost Orchestra Competition (2023). He collaborated with several ensembles and orchestras including the Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Youth Orchestra, Ensemble Ibis, TACET(i) ensemble, the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, the Arx Duo, The __ Experiment, and more. Adiwach Panapongpaisarn, a lecturer in the Music Program, Faculty of Humanities, Rajabhat Chiang Rai University, holds the position of Assistant Professor and is the conductor of the CRRU Brass Project at Rajabhat Chiang Rai University. He completed his Master’s degree in Music from the College of Music, Rangsit University, and his Bachelor’s degree in Western Music from the Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University.
Adiwach has participated in numerous training courses on trombone performance, conducting, and teaching wind ensembles from renowned artists and instructors both domestically and internationally. In the field of orchestration and composition, Adiwat furthered his studies with Asst. Prof. Boonrat Sirirattanaphan and Asst. Prof. Jinnawat Mansap. Adiwach’s musical creations are diverse, encompassing conducting, orchestration, and composition.
Additionally, Adiwach has been invited as a guest lecturer to provide knowledge on brass instrument performance and wind band playing in Chiang Rai province and nearby areas. He has also served as a judge for various music competitions held in Chiang Rai and other provinces in the Northern region.

บทประพันธ์เพลงนี้ได้รับแรงบันดาลใจจากภาพจินตนาการพระอาทิตย์ขึ้นจากมุมมองบนพระบรมธาตุเจดีย์ศรีนครินทร์สถิตมหาสันติคีรี ซึ่งเป็นยอดสูงสุดของดอยแม่สลอง ตำบลแม่สลองนอก อำเภอแม่ฟ้าหลวง จังหวัดเชียงราย บทประพันธ์เพลงนี้สะท้อนภาพความงามของพระอาทิตย์ขึ้นตัดกับทะเลหมอกอันสวยงาม แสงธรรมชาติหลากหลายสีสัน และการจางหายไปของหมอกคงไว้เพียงความความอบอุ่นและแสงอันเรืองรองสว่างไสวของพระอาทิตย์ในผู้คนได้เชยชม โดยบทประพันธ์เพลงมีการสอดแทรกทำนองเพลงพื้นบ้านล้านนาหลากหลายทำนองเสริมสร้างบรรยากาศและเป็นสัญญะแทนความเป็นล้านนา

This piece is inspired by the imagined view of a sunrise from Phra Borom That Chedi Srinakharin Sathit Mahasantikhiri, the highest peak of Doi Mae Salong in Mae Salong Nok Sub-district, Mae Fa Luang District, Chiang Rai Province. The piece reflects the beauty of the sunrise against a stunning sea of mist, with diverse natural light in various colors. As the mist gradually fades, it leaves behind only the warmth and brilliant radiance of the sun for all to admire. The piece interweaves various Lanna folk melodies to enhance the atmosphere and serve as a symbol of Lanna culture.

Kevin Charoensri is a Thai-American composer, pianist, conductor, and arts advocate based in San Diego, CA. His work centers historically marginalized voices—particularly AAPI communities—and has been recognized by national platforms including The Washington Post, CNN, and the Smithsonian Institution. At 15, he made his international composition and conducting debut at the Sydney Opera House conducting his original work “Return,” earning praise from the San Diego Union-Tribune. His music has since been performed at Carnegie Hall, Cornell’s Bailey Hall, Purdue University, and in residencies at UCLA, Texas Tech, Cal State Fullerton, and others.
His acclaimed piece Rising Light, a response to post-COVID Asian hate, was programmed by “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band and drew national attention when its performance was cancelled by executive order. As a conductor and educator, Kevin has led masterclasses, guest conducted across the country, and mentored young artists from underrepresented communities.
Kevin holds a BM in Music Composition from The University of Texas at Austin, where his works were premiered by university ensembles and he performed with the UT Jazz Bands. Now pursuing graduate studies at Michigan State University, he continues to bridge cultures and genres, using music as a platform for advocacy, storytelling, and social impact.

ไม่กี่เดือนก่อน แม่ของผมขอให้ผมเดินไปซื้อของด้วยกัน เพราะท่านรู้สึกหวาดกลัวจากเหตุการณ์ความรุนแรงและการเหยียดเชื้อชาติที่เกิดขึ้นกับผู้หญิงชาวเอเชียอเมริกันทั่วสหรัฐฯ เช่นเหตุการณ์ที่มีผู้หญิงเชื้อสายเอเชียผู้บริสุทธิ์ถูกทำร้ายถึง 7 รายในนิวยอร์ก และจากเหตุการณ์นี้เอง Rising Light ก็ได้ถือกำเนิดขึ้น ผมรู้ว่าผมต้องพูดอะไรบางอย่าง ด้วย “เสียง” ที่ผมมี — และนั่นคือเสียงของดนตรี

Boonrut Sirirattanapan (1972-), Thailand
Boonrut Sirirattanapan born in Thailand.Since 2003, Sirirattanapan had composed many pieces for computer, live electronics, chamber works, wind symphony as well as symphony orchestra. His works to date include La gardienne de la mer for Thai ensemble and computer (2003), Vela for wind symphony (2003-7), Saffron Number for Brass, Percussion, Piano, computer and video (2007), La 3 Rua Reverse for Oboe, Cello and computer (2009), Episodes of E.O.D. for trombone, piano and video (2010-11), VTIF for electronics (2012), Karawek for clarinet sextet (2008-15), Sacred Tree for Saxophone and computer (2015), the music-drama Ajatashatru & Amrapali (2017-18), Glon for Ensemble, Chorus and Electronics (2017). Parts of his work “Prospered Night” was performed in the World Saxophone Congress 2018 at Zagreb, Croatia. His focus in bronze drums and gong leads to 2 works – Slow-Motion Flow of a Rural Scene for wind symphony, and Obsession in Metal. His recent project is 2 ensemble pieces on the Legend of Chiang Rai which incorporates many Northern Thai elements in the sound texture, also includes Bronze Drum and Gong sounds. One of these 2 pieces, the Wild Boar, was selected to perform in the World Saxophone Conference in Las Palmas de Granaria, Spain in 2023. A music score for “Suvarnabhumi Golden land” a documentary which he also an executive producer as well as head of the project. Last year, Boonrut composed songs and music score for the opening show of ICON SIAM Count Down 2025, the show which Lisa Manoban was the Highlight.
Sirirattanapan teaches composition, sound design, and music production at the Conservatory of Music, Rangsit University, Thailand. He is working on the new composition “Prae” (Transform) for Saxophone, Percussions, Strings, and Electronics which 2 in-progress versions, one for percussion ensemble another for Alto saxophone and electronics were perform in Thailand and Singapore respectively.

Concerto for Bronze Drums, Thai Gongs, Percussion, and wind Symphony (2024)
III. The Cosmic Web
This composition is a part of a research project Music of Suvarnabhumi 2 : Suvarnabhumi Heritages from Bronze Drums and Gongs in Some Ethnic Groups to the Contemporary Music of Concerto for Bronze Drum, Gongs, Percussion, and Wind Symphony Orchestra funded by National Research Council of Thailand via Suvarnabhumi Studies Institute (NCRT), Thailand Academy of Social Science, Humanities, and Arts (TASSHA), The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation.
Inspired by the Ahom genesis narrative in the Ahombhuranji, this composition weaves cosmological threads from the Upanishads, Tai Mao folklore, and interpretations by Choltira Satayawatana (Epic of Tai People), with invaluable insights from Amra Srisuchart. These sources converge into a sonic tapestry where creation echoes across cultures and epochs.
The story begins with Sang Nua, the Upper Light—primordial illumination, divine origin. From this brilliance emerges Fa Pan Mit, the Rainbow God, spectral messenger of creation, tasked to summon two colossal spiders: Gao Kham, ancestral weavers of the universe. Their cosmic web unfurls across the void, forming a lattice of galaxies, stars, and life—an astral architecture stitched in myth.
Movement III: The Cosmic Web (World Premiere Tonight)
This final movement envisions the sprawling dance of the spiders and their iridescent web—an emblem of interconnected existence. It celebrates the vitality of all beings, human and beyond, in rhythmic resonance. Ancient bronze drums and gongs thunder through the hall, while voices rise in chant, praising the sublime mystery of Mother Nature, who cradles the cosmos in shimmering silk.

อ.ดร.นิพัต กาญจนะหุต สำเร็จการศึกษาในระดับปริญญาโทและปริญญาเอกจาก University of North Texas โดยเป็นผู้ได้รับทุนการศึกษาจาก University of North Texas Academic and Graduate Assistantship Tution Scholarship Award ดร.นิพัต สำเร็จศิลปกรรมศาสตรบัณฑิต เกียรตินิยมอันดับสอง จากคณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย
ดร.นิพัต เป็นชาวกระบี่โดยกําเนิด เริ่มการศึกษาดนตรีในระดับมัธยมศึกษาที่โรงเรียนวัดสุทธิวราราม ในระหว่างปี พ.ศ. 2531 – 2538 อ.ดร.นิพัต มีโอกาสบรรเลงร่วมกับวง Bangkok Symphony Orchestra ในฐานะนักดนตรี Horn และทำงานร่วมกับวาทยกรและนักดนตรีผู้มีชื่อเสียงหลายท่าน ในปีพ.ศ. 2533 อ.ดร.นิพัต ได้ผ่านการสอบคัดเลือกให้เข้าร่วมบรรเลงกับวง “Asian Youth Orchestra Music Camp and Concert Tours 1992” และผ่านการสอบคัดเลือกให้เข้าร่วมแสดงในงาน “1st ASEAN Symphonic Band Workshop” ซึ่งจัดขึ้นที่ประเทศสิงคโปร์และในปีเดียวกัน

Nipat Kanchanahud, D.M.A. is a full-time faculty at Department of Western Music, Faculty of Humanities, Kasetsart University. While he is the Conductor in Residence of Kasetsart University Wind Symphony, Nipat has collaborated with many world-class musicians and composers namely Prof. Boris Berman, famous pianist and professor from Yale University, Dr. Indhuon Srikaranonda a famous pianist from Thailand, Dr.Timothy Thompson, a well known Hornist from University of Arkansas, Jan Van de Roost, and Satoshi Yagisawa.
Dr. Nipat Kanchanahud completed Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind conducting performance (D.M.A. Conducting Performance) from University of North Texas, Denton TX, U.S.A. where he was a doctoral conducting associate of North Texas Wind Studies as well as guest conductor of North Texas Wind Symphony, North Texas Symphonic Band, and North Texas Concert band. He was also a graduate teaching fellow of Wind Conducting class of Prof. Eugene M. Corporon and Prof. Dennis W. Fisher. While studying, Nipat has been the drill formation designer of “The Green Brigade” UNT Marching Band since 2004 – 2006, and 2012 – 1015 under the direction of Dr. Nicholas E Williams. In addition, he studied horn with Prof.William Scharnberg and was a horn player of North Texas Wind Symphony. A native of Krabi Province, Dr. Nipat started his music education in Bangkok while in secondary school at Wat Suthiwararam School, one of Thailand’s leading schools for wind band. He grew up in the environment of wind band during his 6 years in secondary school and was selected to be a band – leader for the last two years of his studies.
Dr.Nipat graduated from the Department of Music, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts Chulalongkorn University with 2nd Class Honors in 1990, where he had a chance for the first time to take conducting class with Associate Professor Dr. Thongsuang Israngkur na Ayudhya, which led him to pursue his future career as one of Thailand’s most prominent wind band conductors and directors. In August 2006 he completed Master of Music degree in Wind conducting (M.M. Wind Conducting) from University of North Texas, Denton TX, U.S.A. where he was a master’s conducting associate at University of North Texas Wind Studies.
Having been appointed as a horn player of the Bangkok Symphony Orchestra between 1988- 1995, Dr. Nipat had many opportunities to perform and work with famous conductors and musicians. He passed the audition to participate in the “1st ASEAN Symphonic Band Workshop” in Singapore in April 1992. Later that year he was selected among youth from all Asian countries to participate in the “Asian Youth Orchestra Music Camp and Concert Tours 1992”.
Dr. Nipat is regarded as one of Thailand’s most famous drill formation designers and has conducted workshops on drill design for many occasions In 1998, he was selected to be the Drill Formation Director of the 13th ASIAN GAMES’ opening and closing ceremonies.
In 2011, he was invited to conduct the Wind Ensemble at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). While in residence, he worked with music performance and education students in the conducting class.
2012-2015, as a doctoral conducting associate of North Texas Wind Studies, he was a guest conductor of North Texas Wind Symphony, North Texas Symphonic Band, and North Texas Concert band. He was invited to conduct Ohio University Wind Symphony on Spring 2014 Concert and 2015 Summer Concert.
Dr.Nipat Kanchanahud has served as a jury member in many prestigious marching band competitions worldwide. He was one of the jury members of Show Band Competition and Concert Percussion Competition at the World Music Contest 2005, 2009 and in 2017 in Kerkrade, The Netherlands, where he also participated in the 3rd International Round Table Conference at Rolduc Conference Center in July 2005. Moreover, he was invited from the World Association of Marching Show Band to be in the judges panel of the World Marching Show Band Championships throughout the world. In 1998 and 2008 he was invited by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Singapore to sit in the panel of judges for “Grand National Marching Band Competition”.
Dr.Nipat Kanchanahud was a recipient of the University of North Texas Academic and Graduate Assistantship Tuition Scholarship Award while he was studying his doctoral degree. In addition, he is an honorary member of Phi Mu Alpha music fraternity. He is a sought-after recording, associate producer, and editor, having been involved with numerous CDs and DVDs on the Klavier, Mark Records, GIA, and UNT labels.
In addition to his work in the recording arts, he has written conductor study guides that are published in the Teaching Music Through Performance in Band Series Vol.10 (2015), Middle School (2015), Vol.11 (2017), and Vol.12 (2020)
July 2023, as a conductor, he was invited to lead the Kasetsart Winds to performed at Lila Cockrell Theater, in Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA) Convention 2023, San Antonio Texas. He also conducted the clinic in TBA 2023 convention “Winds of Siam: a Cross Cultural Experience for Wind Bands”.

ผศ. สุรพล เริ่มเล่นดนตรีครั้งแรกในวงเครื่องสายไทยที่โรงเรียนกรุงเทพคริสเตียนวิทยาลัย จากนั้นเข้าศึกษาต่อที่โรงเรียนวัดสุทธิวราราม และร่วมฝึกหัดดนตรีอย่างจริงจังในวงดุริยางค์โรงเรียนวัดสุทธิวราราม จนสำเร็จการศึกษาระดับชั้นมัธยมศึกษา และได้ศึกษาต่อทางดนตรีโดยตรงในระดับปริญญาตรีที่คณะศิลปกรรมศาสตร์ จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย ในเครื่องดนตรีเอกทรอมโบน (ศิลปศาสตรบัณฑิต เกียรตินิยมอันดับสอง)

Bio (English)
Asst. Prof. Surapol Thanyawiboon began his musical journey as a member of a Thai classical string ensemble at Bangkok Christian College. He later continued his studies at Wat Suthiwararam School, where he trained seriously in the school’s wind band. After completing his secondary education, he pursued a bachelor’s degree in music at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Chulalongkorn University, majoring in trombone (B.F.A. with second-class honors).
He received further training in wind band music at Tenri High School in Nara, Japan, under the guidance of Prof. Kikuo Atarashi, and at the prestigious Mid-West Band and Orchestra Clinic in the United States.
He later joined the Faculty of Humanities at Kasetsart University as a full-time lecturer, where he co-founded both the Kasetsart University Wind Symphony and the semi-professional “Nonsi Orchestra Wind.”
Asst. Prof. Surapol has served as a judge for band competitions both in Thailand and internationally, including in Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, and the People’s Republic of China. He is also a regular clinician, sharing his expertise in wind band music with young musicians across Thailand and Singapore on an annual basis.

Bio (English)
Weerachai Prommin was born on October 2, 1998, in Bangkok, Thailand. He began
his musical studies with the trumpet in Grade 6 before focusing on the French horn during his
first year of secondary school. He completed his secondary education at the Royal Thai Army School of Music.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in Western Music from the Department of Music, Faculty of
Humanities, Kasetsart University, where he majored in French horn under the guidance of Kulcha Kaewkaewsumpun. Additionally, he pursued advanced studies in music composition under the
supervision of Asst. Prof. Jinnawat Mansap, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pathorn Srikaranonda, and Asst. Prof. Kitti Kruemanee. He also studied conducting and score analysis with Asst. Prof. Surapol Thanyawiboon and Dr. Nipadth Kanchanahut. In 2024, he was selected to represent Thailand in a program organized by the World Association for Symphonic Bands and Ensembles (WASBE) held in the Republic of Korea and selected to OSAKA INTERNATIONAL MUSIC COMPETITION 2024 with Tumrai Brass Ensemble partner os Kasetsart Winds in Japan. This experience marked a significant milestone reflecting his musical potential on an international level.
Currently, Sgt. Weerachai serves as a musician in the Military Band Platoon, Royal
Thai Army Band Department and is a member of the Kasetsart Winds and TESKA Winds, Nontri Orchestra Wind three of the leading wind ensembles at Kasetsart University.
