Tha-yoi Nork Sam Chan was originally composed by Phra Praditphairoh (Master Mee-khaek or Mee Duriyang) for pipat ensemble during the reign of King Rama VI. Prince Paribatra had arranged for big brass band, and for the first time in Thai music history, with chorus in Western style, replacing instrumental parts, in the third movement. The lyrics was an adaptation from “I-nao” literature written by King Rama II.
