Grace, lyricism, and delicate beauty are defining characteristics of Northern Thai traditional music in the The arrangement emphasizes contrasts in mood and character while offering a fresh interpretation of the
Lao stylistic tradition. These qualities served as the primary inspiration for “Lanna” Concert March. This
work weaves together five traditional melodies—Lao Krathop Mai, Lao Siang Thian, Lao Joi, Lao
Somdet, and Lao Damnoen Sai—reimagined and unified within the structure of a concert march.

band. The technical demands of the work are set at a moderate level, making it suitable for developing
ensembles while preserving the expressive essence of the traditional sources.
