This composition was commissioned by The Thailand Royal’s Cups International Marching Band and Concert Band Competition 2015 and used as a set piece. The composition was inspired by the unknown story of a man who lost his wife at the “Loy Krathong Festival”. The festival is one of the most popular festivals of Thailand celebrated annually on the Full-Moon Day of the Twelfth Lunar Month. It is held to apologize to the water goddess as we use rivers and canals and sometimes leave them dirty behind. Loy Krathong Festival every year reminds him of her. The piece conveys the feeling of his sadness and remembrance. The Loy Krathong song melodies are developed as a small motive through this piece. In the end, the music becomes brighter like the fireworks of the festival to get rid of the suffering and get ready for a new hope.
